Fancy Dress Party Costumes are exciting and fun to wear, but not always the easiest outfits to create. So you may want to start planning a good few weeks in advance. Typically, people dress up a little more for fancy dress parties, so you may want to put together a Fancy Dress Costume that is both unique and a little more formal. Or you can pick a costume that isn't necessarily more formal but that will look good beside the fancier more expensive costumes.

White Champagne: For starters you want to dress either all in champagne-beige or light green or white. Then, have fun with the face paint and paint your face the same colour as your clothes. Wear a light ski cap and attach green balloons as grapes. Copy the champagne label onto a piece of oblong white cardboard. And hang the label around your neck.
Chef: Here's a good outfit if you want to make yourself a popular item at a Halloween Costume party. Wear loose white clothing, a chef's hat, and a white apron. Dust yourself with flour and you might have some icing sugar to sprinkle on the people you meet, instead of shaking their hand. And then tie a tin baking tray of samples round your neck.
Flapper: Get yourself a sleeveless gown in a bold colour, like deep red, purple or gold.
Add some fringe to the dress and a lace shawl. Then add a headband with a feather boa - a simple band will work, with sequins glued on it. Wrap long beads or pearls around your neck, and knot the necklace at the bottom to add some flair. Pull on some elbow-length silk gloves, fishnet stockings and high-heels. And then put on deep red or purple lipstick, along with some rosy blush.
A Famous Person: Maybe you could go as someone like Einstein. Get yourself a wig of crazy hair and nerdy glasses. Then put on an old-fashioned suit with a vest and a tie. You might want to visit a store that supplies cool science items and buy yourself a glow-in-the-dark stick (that'll be the light), and memorize your speed, ≈ 186,282.397 per second. The finishing touch will be to gel your wig hair back. Don't forget to introduce yourself as Albert.
Airline Pilot: This costume requires a trip to your local costume shop. It's a nice outfit to wear though because you can walk around with a little bit of Leonardo Di Capri's flair in Catch Me If You Can.
The Angel with Wings: Wear a white negligee or nightgown. To make the wings, use two wire hangers and bend each of them into a rounder, tear shape. Straighten out the hooks as best you can and twist them together, so that the wings are attached. Next, cover each wing with clear cellophane and imitation feathers. Then tie on two loops of elastic large enough to put your arm and shoulder through.
Fly on the Wall: This is an easy costume, which is great for Fancy Dress Costume parties. Wear only black. On each wing, draw some veins in black and add some glow-in-the-dark sparkles. Flies don't have antennae; however, if you add them, using a hair band and two black pipe cleaners it enhances the insect-like appearance. Then put on some swimming goggles.
Marathon Runner: Write your favorite number on a bib. Get into your running gear, and walk or rather run into the room carrying a bottle of Gatorade and a towel round your neck. You might want to actually run over to the party so you look the part but that's not really necessary. Or you can go as one of the cyclists competing in the Tour de France. That would mean that you would spend the evening wearing your bike helmet and you're cycling gear, and walking around with bicycle chain grease on your legs.
