Because New York City apparently wasn't flashy enough, the girls head off on a luxury vacation in Abu Dhabi hosted by none other than the Sheik himself. While the local women are covered up head to toe in black robes and veils, the Sex in the City ladies try their best to keep it modest in their vintage Halstons, Manalo Blahniks and Hermes Birkins. The costume designer for the series, Patricia Fields, created more than 300 looks for the summer blockbuster - that comes down to 2 costume changes per each minute in this 148 minute movie!

The movie starts out with a flashback of the girls first meeting in the 1980s and these were some of the most outrageous costumes in my opinion. If you come from that era, can you even believe we wore that stuff?! Carrie was looking like an early pop Madonna in a petticoat, lavender corset, sleeveless flannel shirt and an overload of bangles, pearls and bows. Carrie also had a 80s costume where she gets right out of the cab in a womens costume reminiscent of the movie Flash Dance.

The 80s costume flashback for Charlotte featured a Lilly Pulitzer look skirt in preppy pinks and greens along with a cardigan thrown around the shoulders, and Tretorn sneakers with pink pom-pom socks (remember those?). Miranda, always the corporate gal, was shown as a total 80s go-getting attorney, rushing down the street in running shoes in her shoulder-padded matchy-matchy suit, starched white blouse and awful wedge hairdo. The Samantha Sex in the City costume featured her flashback before she was a public relations pro. As a wild bartender, Samantha is shown wearing peek-a-boo snake print pants, and a leopard tank under a studded denim vest. Red heeled booties, an outrageous bleach blonde wig and a Sony Walkman finished up her edgy Eighties look.

Halo Fan Shows Off Amazing Halo Room

A big Halo fan put together a totally amazing Halo room, which he calls the UNSC Man Cave. In the game, UNSC stands for United Nations Space Command. And yes, this room indeed looks like a command center.

Great Elvis Costume Ideas

If you decide to dress up as Elvis this Halloween, there are many sources you can look to for inspiration. While we generally thing of Elvis' career and appearance as being divided into two parts, the earlier and the later, there are many variations of costume that will be recognizable as The King of Rock and Roll.

When Elvis was just beginning his career as a performer, he would often wear a plain black suit. Provided the jacket is roomy enough, and the pant are wide legged enough to show movement, the added hairstyle and attitude will be more than enough for a decent Elvis costume. A classic picture and video of Elvis making a name for himself shows him wearing a light colored blazer with dark or black pants and a skinny tie. You'll have to sing a few bars of a song, and show off some dance moves, but this one will work very well.

In one of his first big breakout hits, Jailhouse Rock, Elvis wore a modified jail costume. It combined a black and white striped t-shirt worn underneath a dark work jacket with matching dark work pants. This will be recognizable from miles away provided you create appropriate Elvis hair.

In 1957 Elvis received his draft notice, and while he was able to defer his army service to finish filming "King Creole" he did begin his service in 1958. There are a few variations on this costume and any of them will work. You'll want to find either a standard olive green Army uniform with a wide round hat, or a beige button down with khakis and a forage or garrison cap. Also remember all Elvis costumes NEED a professional quality Elvis wig.

In the time just after his army service and before the jumpsuits of the 70's there is a famous photo of Elvis wearing an all gold suit. The jacket is sleek and well cut and the pants are not fitted too tight. It's worn with a white shirt and a gold skinny tie, and of course you must finish this look with a good head of Elvis hair. Any great Elvis wig(will do if you don't have hair, and keep in mind people are using pink wigs as a new fad for Elvis hair.

One of his most well known and popular outfits is the classic white jumpsuit. This outfit is fitted with the exception of the bell bottomed legs. The shirt has a deep v-neck that shows the chest and a high collar to accentuate his kingly neck and head.

Another of his most popular and well recognized jumpsuits is the royal blue one he wore with a cape. There is a great video of him performing in this outfit showing off his dancing moves. The cape is a great accent if you're going to incorporate some of his kung-fu hand movements and roundhouse kicks.

In his 1968 comeback special, Elvis wore classic head to toe leather. The pants were loosely fitted and flattering, and both the jacket and pants were black. This image of the classic bad boy revived his wilting musical career and kicked up his sex symbol status all the way to the top.

Skeleton Costume For Halloween

On Halloween nights many people dress up in different Halloween costumes in order to scare each other. One of the often used costumes is a ghost costume. Adults and children like to wear this costume at this festival. Many people find it rather funny and amusing.

Fancy Dress Party Costumes are exciting and fun to wear, but not always the easiest outfits to create. So you may want to start planning a good few weeks in advance. Typically, people dress up a little more for fancy dress parties, so you may want to put together a Fancy Dress Costume that is both unique and a little more formal. White Champagne: For starters you want to dress either all in champagne-beige or light green or white. Then, have fun with the face paint and paint your face the same colour as your clothes. Wear a light ski cap and attach green balloons as grapes. Copy the champagne label onto a piece of oblong white cardboard. And hang the label around your neck.

Chef: Here's a good outfit if you want to make yourself a popular item at a Halloween Costume party. Wear loose white clothing, a chef's hat, and a white apron. Dust yourself with flour and you might have some icing sugar to sprinkle on the people you meet, instead of shaking their hand. And then tie a tin baking tray of samples round your neck.

Flapper: Get yourself a sleeveless gown in a bold colour, like deep red, purple or gold.
Add some fringe to the dress and a lace shawl. Then add a headband with a feather boa - a simple band will work, with sequins glued on it. A Famous Person: Maybe you could go as someone like Einstein. Get yourself a wig of crazy hair and nerdy glasses. Then put on an old-fashioned suit with a vest and a tie. You might want to visit a store that supplies cool science items and buy yourself a glow-in-the-dark stick (that'll be the light), and memorize your speed, ≈ 186,282.397 per second. The finishing touch will be to gel your wig hair back. Don't forget to introduce yourself as Albert.

Airline Pilot: This costume requires a trip to your local costume shop. It's a nice outfit to wear though because you can walk around with a little bit of Leonardo Di Capri's flair in Catch Me If You Can.

The Angel with Wings: Wear a white negligee or nightgown. To make the wings, use two wire hangers and bend each of them into a rounder, tear shape. Straighten out the hooks as best you can and twist them together, so that the wings are attached. Next, cover each wing with clear cellophane and imitation feathers. Then tie on two loops of elastic large enough to put your arm and shoulder through.

Fly on the Wall: This is an easy costume, which is great for Fancy Dress Costume parties. Wear only black. On each wing, draw some veins in black and add some glow-in-the-dark sparkles. Flies don't have antennae; however, if you add them, using a hair band and two black pipe cleaners it enhances the insect-like appearance. Then put on some swimming goggles.

Marathon Runner: Write your favorite number on a bib. Get into your running gear, and walk or rather run into the room carrying a bottle of Gatorade and a towel round your neck. You might want to actually run over to the party so you look the part but that's not really necessary. Or you can go as one of the cyclists competing in the Tour de France. That would mean that you would spend the evening wearing your bike helmet and you're cycling gear, and walking around with bicycle chain grease on your legs.
